Worcester Music Festival has announced that applications are now open for charities to apply to be this year’s chosen cause.
Every year, the festival selects a different local charity to support, raising both money and awareness over the course of the three-day event, which, in 2025, will take place across the 12th-14th September in Worcester’s lively city centre. Applications must be in by 1st February 2025.
During the 2024 event, the weekend-long celebration of music had an incredible impact on the year’s charity: Herefordshire & Worcestershire Motor Neurone Disease Association. Alongside raising a staggering £5,556.33, the festival showcased the charity’s vital work to thousands of festival-goers.
Ant Robbins, Festival Director, commented:
“We had an amazing festival in 2024, raising a record-breaking amount of money over the weekend. The Herefordshire & Worcestershire MND Association plays a crucial role in supporting individuals living with motor neurone disease in our community through support groups, grants, and other vital initiatives. Thanks to the generosity of festival goers in 2024, the charity has been able to launch a new support group, extending their reach and offering assistance to even more local people affected by MND.”
Em Branson, Marketing Director, added:
“As we prepare for the 2025 Worcester Music Festival, we’re on the lookout for a cause that truly makes a difference to our community. Charities, this is your moment! We’re dedicated to supporting those in the local area and invite all Worcestershire-based charitable organisations to apply. Your cause could be the one we champion this year!”
Charities are invited to complete the festival’s application form, providing information on their work, who they help, and, most importantly, whether they have a specific project they need support with. In previous years, the festival has supported charities including Worcester Community Trust, Worcester Foodbank, and The Myriad Centre.
Every year, the festival relies on generous contributions from the public to raise money for the chosen cause. Charity donation tins are placed across the festival’s 20 venues, and a creative team, dressed in an eye-catching array of costumes, are always out with donation buckets.
Worcester Music Festival was launched in 2008, featuring a small number of venues and artists. It has since flourished into a weekend-long event that supports both the local music scene and the community at large. The festival gives artists a platform to perform while donating to worthy causes. Now, the event features over 250 artists in 20 venues situated in the heart of the faithful city.
