Worcester Music Festival has announced that Worcester Snoezelen has been selected as this year’s chosen charity, with all fundraising efforts from the festival, taking place Friday 12th – Sunday 14th September, dedicated to supporting this vital local organisation.
Held annually across 20 diverse venues in Worcester’s lively city centre, Worcester Music Festival showcases almost 300 talented artists while championing important community causes. This year, the festival committee faced a tough decision in selecting a charity, but the transformative work of Worcester Snoezelen resonated deeply with the team.
Worcester Snoezelen is a leisure therapy centre that provides a range of person-centred multisensory activities designed to empower individuals, bring joy, and support alternative communication. The charity offers a safe and welcoming space for children and adults with learning disabilities and additional needs, enabling them to engage in creative and sensory-based experiences.
Jane Roberts, Chief Officer at Worcester Snoezelen, commented:
“We are absolutely delighted to be Worcester Music Festival’s charity of the year. Music can break down those communication barriers – a common language we can all experience and enjoy regardless of disability or difference. We have a very active music service and many of our members are going to really enjoy getting involved.”
Ant Robbins, Director of Worcester Music Festival, added:
“Our festival is built on the principle of supporting the local community, and we’re incredibly proud to be fundraising for Worcester Snoezelen this year. Their work is truly life-changing for so many individuals and families, and we hope to make a real difference through our efforts.
“To make the biggest impact possible, we’re inviting artists and musicians of all genres to take part in this year’s festival. Every year, we are inspired by the generosity of performers who donate their time to support important local causes, and we can’t wait to see the incredible talent that comes forward in 2025.”
Musicians interested in performing at the festival are encouraged to apply via an online application form available on the website. A carefully curated line-up will be selected by local promoters, ensuring a diverse and exciting range of performances that continue to attract thousands of attendees each year.
Worcester Music Festival has become a beloved fixture in the region’s cultural calendar, offering an eclectic mix of live music in an array of unique venues, from traditional pubs and music venues to art galleries, independent shops, and community spaces. Last year’s event saw over 250 performances, creating an unforgettable atmosphere throughout the city.
